Anyone using the alarm function on the P1i? Although mine seems to work, it never goes off in the morning. Either the phone has froaen or rebooted and is waiting for me to select a function.... then the alarm goes off - thanks! Any ideas??
Also, the phone function sometimes stops working! Its a phone one minute, then its a PDA only, and you can't tell until you reboot and get loads of missed calls, messages!! More software issues?? Any help... P.S. Great blog site!!

Might be some software that's causing this sort of problem for your Alarm. Try closing all your open apps before sleeping, and see if the problem still occurs.
As for the phone issue, it seems like a phone defect. Maybe you should bring it all back to SE and see if they're going to replace it for you.
have a p1i jus bought it recently and have upgraded the software as well but the phone still hangs if not used for 3 to 4 hours and doesnt even restart by pressing the restart button .. have to remove the battery and restart it..
also if it is inactive for some time then the calling(incoming and outgoing calls) and sms features completely stop operating and i have to restart the phone again.
any kind of help or advice will be really appreciated .. looking forward to hearing from the members .. thank u

There is something that really bothers me from the P1i and is the fact that the multimedia volume is really low (probably because of law regulations). I had a P900 several years ago and the sound was crisp, clear and loud, compared to the actual P1i. Do you know if there is a way to somehow increase the volume of the Walkman Player?
By the way, I even tried with A2DP Bluetooth headphones, but the results were pretty much the same.

i've a P1i phone that i just buy and it works well but yesterday it's back button in the left doesn't lock the phone with holding but unlocked it with holding.when i hold the back button one massage apears that alert me and it says "in use" in abox that at the top written "information.and also the silent key "#" dosen't silent the phone when i hold it .please help me.mahdi.

I have a quick question and was wondering if anyone has had the same experience with their P1.
I have a motorola wireless stereo bluetooth headset that i have paired with my P1i. It works fine and plays my music, but it randomly starts skipping sometimes. By skipping i mean like how a cd player skips. Usually it happens when i move my phone. I have tried the headset with another phone and it worked fine. Also, i tried turning off the power save feature in the bluetooth menu of my P1, but still no luck.
Any suggestions??

I've been trying my p1i hundreds of times of downloading the flash player as required while I was trying to go to youtube and watch videos..but the results are the same which is failed..is there anyone has this kind of prob?? I heard some of the sony ericsson dealer said that so far there are no such supported software and I feel wasted when I can online but failed to watch youtube vidoes as well as other websites..

I'm sorry to inform you that Flash media is currently not supported on the P1, so there is no way you can watch desktop videos of Youtube. If you're really desperate for it, the only solution is mobile Youtube, which can be accessed at http://m.youtube.com.

Hi,
I bought a p1i off ebay and it arrived today. I connected it to the SEUS and it upgraded the firmware. However I noticed after the upgrade, the call volume is very very low. Can barely hear anyone anymore.
I've set al the volumes to max (including the call volume while in a cal using the jog dial) but to no effect. Can anyone help me with a solution to this.

I also have the same experience with P1i. The earphone volume is so low it is outright annoying when traveling in the train.
I have searched the net for blogs but with no luck so far.
Interestingly the rear speakers sound loud enough but the volume through the earphone is poor to be virtually useless.
I think this is a wasted phone and my next phone will be iPhone.
Cannot believe SE is so careless about the quality of sound over which this company built its reputation and was the prime reason for me to buy this phone.

I was wondering if anyone else has this same problem, but I have a problem connecting to the internet via wi-fi. If the wi-fi is unsecured, then the connection is fine and strong, but when it's locked, it won't work. I'm not talking about "there's a password," but I mean after I know the password, and I try to unlock the router, either WEP or WPA, it still won't let me connect. I've tried manually configuring the IP and DNS, but still to no avail.

Ramesh, I solved this problem by taking a small pin and poking a hole in the small slit where the front speaker should be. Its really loud now. Maybe the material is clogging the sound.
Norman, There is a company called davinci which can help you with this. Do the update from their site. I had the same problem and using their update, the phone worked perfectly.

good day everyone....thanks for creating this section....i also have a problem on my P1i...i run the update service of sony ericsson just recently....my problem is i noticed that the internal shared memory of my phone droped from 160MB to only 134MB...can anybody please tell me if this is normal or something went wrong with the memory of my phone....we all know that the internal shared phone memory of P1i is 160MB....please help me on this....i'm too bothered about this....

I have a question about about the Wifi, can it be set to automatically connect to an access point? I'm on 3 in HK and the data rates are really high, I use the P1i for push email, so when I'm at home I don't want it defaulting to the 3G connection, but I have to manually make the connection to my home Wifi, and often after a night left out the Wifi has lost connection.
Any solutions?

Hello everyone, I have a quick questions to all who have used the SE PC Suite for backup purpose. I need to know friends if PC Suite is backup (and restore) the sms too?
In addition I need to find a way to get my sms from p1 to pc or into any file. I have tried few versions of SMS Diary with no success, if you know any working version please drop a url too.
Anything that work to solve this purpose post url so others and I can get to it too. It will be so helpful.
